David Finck BASSic Instinct

On BASSic Instinct (Burton Avenue Music – 1265), bassist DAVID FINCK finds himself in a variety of musical settings from a piano/bass duo to an octet backing a vocalist.  The program is equally eclectic mixing standards like “The Best Thing for You (Would Be Me),” “Dearly Beloved,” “Tea for Two,” “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” and “I’m Confessin’ (That I Love You)” with three of his originals plus Johnny Mandel’s “Seascape,” Gerry Niewood’s “Joy,” the Brazilian choro, “Tico-Tico no Fubá” and the “Theme from ‘Mannix’.”  Among the players on the album is pianist Tedd Firth who is on two of the most memorable tracks, a piano trio take on “The Best Thing for You,” and “I Remember,” a tune by Finck with lyrics by Jack Murphy, sung by Melissa Errico, backed by only Firth and Finck.  He has enlisted a fine crew of players to execute his varied and interesting charts.  (www.burtonavenuemusic.com)

Since 1988 Kari-On Productions has helped artists get an even footing in the industry through jazz promotion in the genres of Jazz, World & Latin Jazz through Jazz Radio and Publicity. Why do we do both, because they compliment each other, and we care about fiscal longevity for the artist.
