Texas jazz vocalist Carolyn Lee Jones offers her fourth recording with a collection of songs about love – new love, lost love, forever love and all manifestation of love. About this recording she states, ‘I wanted my fourth album to reflect where I am now in my musical journey and to sing taking what I’ve loved about each song and making them my own with a fresh point of view.’
The impressive ensemble is the Fresh Vintage Jazz Ensemble and finer musicians would be difficult to find! Her collaborators/arrangers for the songs are pianist Brad Williams, pianist Sergio Pamies, and trombonist Dave Pierce.
The excellent choice of songs are Close Your Eyes, No Moon At All, I Was A Fool, The Nearness Of You, That Old Black Magic, Love After Midnight, Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You, When I Found You, Confession, My Foolish Heart, All Night Long, and I Only Have Eyes For You.
Yes, we all know the songs, but the manner in which Carolyn delivers them is solidly unique – a very rewarding collection
