Jackie Warren (piano), Sherrie Maricle (drums), and Amy Shook (bass) met in 2014 in Cleveland while playing in The DIVA Jazz Orchestra as part of Maurice Hines’ show “Tappin’ Thru Life.”  After discovering that they were kindred spirits with similar musical vision, they’ve also become the closest of friends. Their swinging take on Randy Newman’s “I Love to See You Smile” sets the stage for a very enjoyable set of straight-ahead toe-tappin’ jazz that is sure to bring joy and comfort to their growing fan base. Their repertoire draws from several comfortably familiar tunes like “Besame Mucho,” “Moonglow” and “Angel Eyes,” yet they impart considerable passionate creativity and personality to each. Their chemistry together is what brings out the best in each of these talented musicians. The creative trio really shines with the groove they establish in “Recado Bossa Nova,” and each musician shares the spotlight. As a tip of the hat to the show that brought them originally together, the 3Ds close with a snappy “L.O.V.E.,” in a tribute to Maurice Hines.  That 2014 encounter was serendipitous. This spirited trio’s full of get-up-and-go, and this album yields bountiful rewards.  (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
